Nguvu means strength, and power, and energy. We chose the name because we believe those three things belong together.
Across Africa, nearly 600 million people still live without electricity. That is not just a number. It is a child doing homework by the light of a kerosene lamp. It is a clinic that cannot keep vaccines cold, a farmer who cannot run a pump, and a young entrepreneur whose idea stalls because the lights go out at sundown. The World Bank counts almost half of sub-Saharan Africa’s people among those still waiting for power, in a region where most of the population is under 30. Their energy is already here. What’s missing is the electricity to match it.
We started Nguvu Advisory because we believe that gap can close in our lifetime, and that it will be closed project by project, by the people who build them.
Our mission is simple: to stand alongside project owners and help turn good energy projects into working ones. Whether you are developing a mini-grid in a rural district, a solar plant feeding the national grid, or an off-grid solution for communities the grid has never reached, we help you move from idea to financing to switch-on. We bring structure to complex deals, clarity to the path to funding, and a shared determination to see your project through.
Never before has there been this much momentum. Governments, development banks and investors have committed billions to bringing power to hundreds of millions more Africans by 2030. But capital alone does not light a home. It takes well-prepared, bankable projects, and committed people behind them. That is where we come in.
Every project we support is a promise kept to a community. We measure our success not only in megawatts and financial closes, but in classrooms lit, businesses opened, and families who no longer have to plan their lives around the dark.
